Professional Achievements

DEVELOPMENT OF THE TECHNOLOGY FOR

1.       Growth of optical quality LiF, CaF2 and BaF2 single crystals upto 2 inch diameter.

2.       Growth of Bismuth Germanate single crystal up-to 40 mm diameter

3.       Growth of large single crystals of PbWO4 , BaWO4 and ZnWO4 scintillators

 

INSTRUMENTATION:

1.       Development of a fully automated diameter controlled Czochralski crystal growth system. All the driver modules, hardware design, fabrication, computer interfacing and software development was done.

2.       Automation of Vacuum Bridgman system for unattended operation.

3.       Design and development of various furnaces.

 

SOFTWARES:

  1. Development of software for fully automated, diameter controlled growth in Czochralski system.
  2. Development of software for auto analysis of activation energies from TSL glow curves

 

AWARDS:

Best research paper award of Indian Science Congress Association, for the paper ?Automation of a Czochralski Crystal Growth System?, at ninth national seminar on crystal growth, held at Anna University Chennai, Feb 2003
